Participate to Ledger N3XT Research Competition for a chance to have your article be featured on Ledger Academy and win seat for Students at Ledger Op3n 2026

This Contest will run from Tuesday, August 4th 2026 (6:00pm CET) to Friday, September 4th 2026 (11:59pm CET).

The Prize

Ledger Contest - get a chance to have your paper published on Ledger Academy and win a seat at Students at Ledger Op3n 2026 (the “Contest”). 

30 (thirty) participants will be selected to have their paper be published on Ledger Academy. 

3 (three) participants will be invited to attend the Students at Ledger Op3n event held in Paris (France) on October 15th-16th, 2026. 

How to Participate?

  • Write a research paper, between 2,500 to 4,000 words maximum, about one of the three following Contest tracks:

    • Agentic Economy;

    • Privacy; or 

    • Op3n (any subject within Ledger's mission). 

Your paper must include a dedicated "Ledger Lens" section explaining how your subject relates to Ledger's mission. An honest analytical perspective is expected, not a promotional one. Your submission must be original work, with all sources cited. No plagiarism will be tolerated.

  • Present your submission on your X.com account or LinkedIn channels with a link to your paper, making sure to tag @Ledger and use the #LedgerN3TCollab.* By entering this Contest, you authorise Ledger to use the related content posted on your social media accounts for promotional purposes in accordance with the terms and conditions below.

  • Submit your participation via the official Google Form available on College.xyz.

*Important: To comply with all applicable regulations, don’t forget to disclose the commercial nature of this collaboration in your post by including one of the following hashtags: #Sponsored or #LedgerSponsor.

Rules & Winners

There will be up to thirty (30) participants who will be selected based on valid submissions among those who have fulfilled the criteria in the above section (“How to Participate?”) to have their papers published on Ledger Academy. The winners will be selected after the competition deadline of Friday September 4th, 2026 (11:59pm CET). Entries made after this point will not be counted.

Amongst the thirty published winners, there will be three (3) winners who will be selected based on the number of likes on the dedicated Contest social media post, submitted via the application form. The three (3) winners will be selected on Monday September 7th, 2026 (06:00pm CET).

There are further rules and conditions for this contest that need to be complied with in order for you to be eligible:

  • You must be at least eighteen (18) years old;

  • Due to regional restrictions, Ledger cannot grant prizes to the following countries and areas: Belarus, Crimea Region, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), Donetsk Region, Egypt, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Iraq, Kosovo, Luhansk Region, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Russian Federation, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Türkiyel; any other territories under embargo or sanction.

  • Ledger employees and their families cannot participate;

  • For the entire list of rules and conditions, please refer to the bottom of this page.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The promoter of the contest is Ledger SAS, a French company, registered under number 529 991 119 with its registered address at 106 rue du Temple – 75003 Paris – France.

  2. You need to be an adult (at least eighteen (18) years old) to enter this competition. Employees of Ledger or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition. 

  3. You represent and warrant that you are not: (1) The subject of any trade or economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the United Nations Security Council, the European Union, Her Majesty’s Treasury, and any other relevant sanctions authority (the “Sanction Authorities”), (2) That you are not designated as a “Specially Designated National” by OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Treasury Department) or placed on the U.S. Commerce Department’s “Denied Persons List”, and, (3) That you are not located, organized or resident in a country or territory that is the subject to sanctions by the Sanctions Authorities. 

  4. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

  5. You confirm that by entering this Contest, you authorize Ledger, and/or any third party designated by Ledger, to use, broadcast, reproduce and communicate to the public the social content you provided for the Contest, together with any linked material forming part of that post (the "Social Content"). The use of the Social Content is strictly limited to broadcasts related to the Contest. This clause governs the Social Content only; Ledger's rights in the Research Paper are set out separately in section 8. - Media to be used by Ledger: all known and unknown media, including television broadcasting, paper (newspapers and periodicals), social media and electronic (Internet), in full or in excerpts. - Duration of use by Ledger: for a period of 10 years for promotional purposes. Non-commercial use (e.g. archival or retrospective purposes or any other purpose) is not limited in time. 

  6. You acknowledge that the Social Content may be exploited and used by Ledger under the conditions set out above and within the framework of the Contest described above, to the exclusion of any other use, save for archival use or retrospective use. 

  7. You acknowledge that You are fully entitled to your rights and you consent to this use of your Social Content by the above-mentioned parties without claiming any remuneration for the exploitation of the rights referred to herein.

  8. The "Research Paper" means the substantive research paper you submit for the Contest, in whatever form delivered, and whether or not it also constitutes Social Content. You retain ownership of the Research Paper. Notwithstanding the above, by entering this contest, you hereby grant Ledger a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to reproduce, publish, republish, adapt for format, and communicate the Research Paper to the public on Ledger Academy and Ledger's owned and operated channels, for editorial and educational purposes, with no time limit. Ledger will credit you and your university or academic institution on each publication. Each publication will carry the statement that the views expressed are the author's own and are not necessarily endorsed by Ledger.

  9. Contest begins Tuesday, August 4th  (6:00pm CET) to Friday, September 4th (11:59pm CET). After this date, there are no further entries permitted to the competition. Ledger reserves the right to change the beginning or the end date.

  10. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received or received too late for whatever reason. 

  11. The decisions of Ledger are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  12. Ledger reserves the right to withdraw or amend without notice this Contest in the event of any unforeseen circumstances outside of its reasonable control. Ledger shall not be liable for any financial loss arising out of the refusal, cancellation or withdrawal of the Contest or any failure or inability of a customer to take advantage of the Contest for any reason.

  13. Any changes to the competition will be notified to participants as soon as possible. The prize to win for thirty (30) participants is their respective Research Paper featured on the Ledger Academy website (with credit to the author and its academic institution). The prize to win for three (3) participants amongst the thirty (30) published winners is an invitation to the Students at Ledger Op3n event held in Paris, France on October 15th and 16th, 2026, for which Ledger shall cover reasonable travel costs booked on the dates of the Students at Ledger Op3n event, up to a spending limit depending on the winner’s location of residence:   - Île-de-France / no travel required €0 - Europe €250  - Africa €700 - Asia €800 - Americas €1,000 - Oceania €1,300 Ledger shall cover reasonable accommodation costs up to €200 per winner.

  14. By entering the contest you acknowledge and agree that you are not in violation of any applicable laws and that receiving the Prize you may win will not violate any laws or regulations of the country to which the Prize is issued. Each participant can only win one time. 

  15. Ledger is not responsible for inaccurate Prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition. 

  16. The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any cash alternatives in whole or in part. The prize is subject to availability and Ledger reserves the right to substitute any Prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. The prize will not be awarded and/or sent to the following countries or regions: Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Egypt, Iraq, Belarus, Myanmar, Morocco, South Sudan, Syria, Kosovo, United States Minor Outlying Islands, Russia, Crimea & Sebastopol; any other territories under embargo or sanction.

  17. Winner will be selected by Ledger against the published evaluation criteria as described in the How To Participate? section.

  18. Note that the highest number of entries does not guarantee any compensation. 

  19. Ledger will announce the winners by email and College.xyz will arrange the distribution of the compensation for travel and accommodation for the three (3) winners who will be attending the Students at Ledger Op3n 2026 event. If the winners does not respond within fourteen (14) days of notification, or is unable to obtain the necessary authorisations to travel to the Students at Ledger Op3n event in Paris, France, Ledger reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and to pick a replacement winner or to cancel the prize.

  20. Ledger reserves the right to exclude any participation which Ledger believes to be inappropriate, fraudulent or based on misconduct. Cheating for entries in any way (by referring to yourself using different emails or by using similar tactics) will disqualify you from winning the contest. 

  21. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  22. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by French law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Paris Court of Appeal. 

  23. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, X.com or any other social network. The winner agrees to the use of their social media username and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current French data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.You are providing your information to Ledger, not to any other party. The information provided will be used in accordance with the GDPR and the Ledger Privacy Policy

  24. Data & GDPR compliance: Ledger will collect and process your social media handle and the content you produced, name, email, and university/academic institution for contest participation purposes. If you are randomly selected for the attribution of the Ledger Flex™ device, Ledger will also collect your address in order to send you the product. The processing of your data is necessary for the performance of the contract you have entered into with Ledger in accepting the terms & conditions of the contest. Your personal data will be retained for no longer than necessary to send the reward and will be available to Ledger and to its technical service providers. Your information may be transferred to non-European countries that ensure an adequate level of protection or within the framework of the standard data protection clauses adopted by the EU Commission. You can access these clauses here. Please note that you may access your data in an interoperable format and request their rectification or deletion. You may also request the limitation of the processing of your data. To exercise your rights or for any question on the processing of your data, please contact Ledger’s Data Protection Officer here. If nevertheless you believe Ledger did not adequately address your concerns and mishandled your data, you may lodge a complaint with the personal data protection authority of your country.

  25. Ledger is entitled to amend these Terms and Conditions, without stating reasons, or to cancel the Contest, if, in the light of statutory or regulatory provisions or interpretations thereof by government bodies, the Contest cannot be continued or cannot be continued unchanged, if the further implementation of the Contest is actually or otherwise impossible or impossible under the same conditions or if the circumstances concerning the Contest have changed to such an extent that its continued progress involves unreasonable or disproportionate extra costs or difficulties for Ledger.
